Thassos is located opposite the coast of Macedonia, in the North Aegean, and is the thirteenth largest island of Greece, with an almost round shape. It is only 6km from the coast of Kavala. Thassos is known as the island of the Sirens and is commonly referred to as the “Emerald of the Aegean.” According to Herodotus, the island took its name from the leader of the Phoenician settlers. Thassos is a mountainous but ideal destination for nature lovers, as well as for sailing enthusiasts. It is covered by dense forests with trees, pines, oaks, and olive trees, hugging the upper edge of its shore. The island is also famous for its unique local products, such as wine, honey, and olive oil. Moreover, it has rich mineral reserves and is marked for its abundance in marble.

A yacht charter in Thassos can take you to many beautiful beaches, where you can enjoy the view of a magnificent sunset. Some of the best beaches on the island are Chrissi Akti, Golden Beach, Agios Antonios, Alykes, Tripiti, Skala Potamia, Limenas Beach, Pefkari, Skala Rachoiou, Giolas, Salaria, and Paradise Beach. The combination of turquoise waters and golden sand is truly captivating. With a yacht charter in Thassos, you can enjoy a day or two exploring the coastline of the island and adding new beaches and bays to your bucket list. The varied coastline of Thassos offers diving opportunities with its underwater rocks and reefs. There are also perfect conditions for windsurfing since the island can get quite windy in summer. Some great options for watersports are Pachis Beach, Skala Rachoni Beach (in the north), or Psili Ammos Beach and Potos Beach (in the south). You can also visit Halkidiki, Kavala, Samothrace, and Lemnos for longer adventures with your motor yacht. Finally, by hiring a yacht in Thassos with a skipper you will be able to navigate the islands with ease and enjoy a worry-free vacation, away from the crowds.
